I have always had a passion for words, how to use them to my advantage and bring thoughts to life. I’ve been expressing myself through written word since I was twelve and it wasn’t until the last five years that I learned it’s not enough to think it and keep it to oneself, but it means everything to share it and be able to bridge together how and what people think and feel”-Ellen Wanjiru

Michelle Belanger Moore, Editor

On March 12, 1986 the Haley’s comet first appeared in the night’s sky ending its 75 year journey back towards earth. On the same evening I was born. I have often used the metaphor, comparing myself in various ways to the comet. In reality, however, it is not what I am…but what I seek to be. I want to burn brilliantly in the atmospheres of scores of different places, and remind others of the beauty and enormity of our collective life. I would like to try and do that through writing, be it my own, or through buttressing someone else’s. One of my personal mantras, is to let gravity do its work and to trust the path it carves out for you. However cheesy that may seem, it has guided me thus far. I want to live to be at least 75 so that I can watch the comet come back.
